Hmmm. Infectious fungus carrying spider and scorpion poison. I wonder what can go wrong with that.
Then again, I've seen crazier things work. Getting rid of mosquitos is worth the shot.
It's a good thing that the fungus has no chance of affecting any other living thing, just mosquitoes. Or that anything in the food web relies on mosquitoes or their larvae as a food source. And there's no chance the fungus will mutate once spread.
No downsides at all.
