    This reminds me of 'Brave New World'. I think the internet nowadays exemplifies the conflict of disorder, freedom and passion with order, totalitarianism and happiness/satiety/contentment. Sorry to any Huxley fans; I probably haven't phrased that well.

    It seems that when everyone can be heard all the time we end up with a situation a bit like the witch-hunting mob at the beginning of 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail.' The majority of people apparently respond foremost to emotional impulses, hence the mind-crumbling influence of Fox News despite its well established lack of any credibility. Now the voice of social media is the loudest of all and public opinion is more important than ever. I'm all for freedom, but we should remember to see if potential witches weigh the same as a duck before drowning them.
