I do wonder if unscientific forensic evidence is widely accepted in courts because it allows them to manipulate the outcome of trials. I understand that it takes time to construct sound practice and policy, but the reluctance of authorities to disregard evidence like this after it's been debunked is unnerving. I suppose they also don't want to consider how many people may have been wrongly incarcerated.

I tried crickets whilst visiting Cambodia and honestly, they were quite nice. A lot like eating peanuts or some other kind of salty pub snack. Good with beer and I think they were cooked in garlic and butter and obviously seasoned. I would hesitate to try anything with a large(r) volume of potentially mushy bits though. Crickets are just crunchy and don't taste of much.

Haha that is so spot on. The only person I know who owns one is probably the most egotistical person I've met. He spent the entire time at this bbq making ego-portraits of himself and his friend who were both dressed like guys from Baywatch. It was not a fancy dress party. Surreal.

Yes! They're parts of what I call 'the age of me': modern society's acceptance, even encouragement, of self obsession. People simultaneously have this idea that social media is bringing us all closer together etc. etc., but it seems to me that people are just more concerned with self image and ensuring that image is seen by as many as possible. Thankfully Snapzu is a haven!

Neverwhere is the only work of Gaiman's that I've had the privilege to read and I loved it! Great author. I'll have to give the others you mentioned a try.
