MTV scraps gender-specific categories for movie & TV awards
Films will now compete in the same categories as TV series too, as MTV shakes up its ceremony, saying its audience ‘doesn’t see male-female dividing lines’.

Does this mean there will be twice as many nominees for best actor? That would be annoying. The most boring part these things is the listing of all the nominees. If it was up to me, each award would only be allowed 3 nominees. One winner and a pair of runners up.
