Maybe software developers should do more by not writing shitty code that is so full of security holes that it needs "critical" upgrades weekly? And also maybe not adding security holes in purpose to help government spying?

This is true. since Linus can do it and Apple can do it,why has Microsoft never been able to do it? One of the reason I left Windows for Linux distros is Microsoft's Windows has a huge bulls eye on it that says:"Infect me!" It also breaks a lot. Way back when I ended up reinstalling Windows 9 times due to breakage. The last time, with XP sent me off the rails,I ran a Linux disk live for three days..Said problem vanished like a fart in a fan factory under Linux. The problem was Windows, not my computer. I fixed the problem by installing Linux three days later and the problem never came back.. The computer, with Linux on board, worked perfectly till it's motherboard died. I can use the same Linux distro for years, and it never breaks.
