We are now in the age of predatory sales tactics where companies base their whole business plan on shaming which is fucked up. Companies like Yelp feed on this type of business model to extort money from businesses, as well as others who went too far recently went to jail for trying their version of predatory tactics with people. Unless something considerable is done to curb this mentality, more of this type of garbage will launch.

There's always the criminal charge of extortion for when it's warranted. Yelp's crossed that line before. However, there is a risk on the other side of scaring people off making genuine recommendations and reviews. Granted, a '.sucks' TLD is obviously a trap for the gullible or unwary, but let's keep that well separate in our minds from things like Angie's List.

Yelp is such scum. I laugh at people who mention it in any serious manner.
