I would have preferred it if the journalists had told us how far away it was from us. Oddly enough, there was no mention of any kind of distance from where we are. Even if the distance would have been difficult for astronomers to estimate, they could have stated that instead of leaving it with no indication. "The middle of the galaxy" is a rather vague term, and I personally would rather know how far it is from us, than where it is in the galaxy.
Of all the marvels of the modern age, the Answer Machines are some of the most jaw-dropping. We have that information right here. Nerds have their uses, I suppose.
