A Simple, Elegant Invention That Draws Water From Air
When Italian designer Arturo Vittori and Swiss architect Andreas Vogler first visited Ethiopia in 2012, they were shocked to see women and children forced to walk miles for water. Only 34 percent of Ethiopians have access to a reliable water supply. Some travel up to six hours a day to fetch some or, worse, resorts to using stagnant ponds contaminated by human waste, resulting in the spread of disease.

Now if only we could draw out the spice..
I don't know about this one, guys. Put together by "designers". The only video about it has people putting one together in Venice, with video of gondolas and a party. Even the press photos just shows shitty photoshops.
While it's a neat idea, there's a dearth of information on exactly how it works, and proof for the "26 gallons of drinkable water a day" claim.
While on the topic, why don't they have awesome things like this available for first world countries? Personally, I'd love to have something like this setup in the back of my property. Hook it up to sprinkler hoses and water my lawn without spending a bunch of money per month on high water bills. Could probably even sell it for a bit of a profit and use that to carpet bomb Ethiopia with water towers.
