Interesting. I'm still on the hunt. We'll get the white buffalo yet.

For me, it's the hilarious background music that really sets it off.

So how have you been locating chiefless tribes? I'm stymied by Snapzu's layout-- I really wish there was a better way to see the various tribes. It seems kind of opaque.

I like this idea! If that link goes somewhere, I'm joining up! It will be like a strange scavenger hunt.

Pekka Airaksinen - Kandrasuryapradipa
Continuing my recent NWW List fun, there's Pekka Airaksinen-- and short note: if your eyes glaze over on a name like that, try typing it out or saying it a few times to help remember it-- anyhow, Airaksinen was a member of Finnish group The Sperm, but eventually struck out on his own with Buddhist-inspired solo work featuring drum machine and electronics. Kandrasuryapradipa is one of my favorite examples so far, and comes from his 1984 album "Buddhas of Golden Light."

Agitation Free - Malesch (1972) Full Album.
I've recently become re-interested in the Nurse With Wound list-- generally called the NWW List-- a list of nearly 300 band names included within Nurse With Wound's 1979 debut album. Although I've heard many of the bands previously, I had never set about listening to each in a guided manner. For the last few days, I've been rectifying this by listening to one entry an evening. Agitation Free's "Malesch" has so far been a highlight. Enjoy!

Well, it's a bit like living in a park, isn't it? Not something I'm keen to do, but the park certainly has a place in my day. 8chan, etc are definitely free-for-alls, but I don't think they're exactly a true public space, either. All the government money seems to go towards building faster and faster "roads" online, but so little thought has gone into creating a destination of any sort.

There is a real need for public spaces online, that are maintained for the public use. Unfortunately, it's usually the case that online communities exist in private space given a public makeover. Like a mall. You might meet your friends there, but that's not why the space is open for you to do so, and it's under no obligation to let you hang out in groups, or wander about without buying something eventually. I doubt Snapzu is any different. The problem will continue until these sorts of public spaces not only exist, but can compete with privately-run spaces like Reddit, Digg, Snapzu, etc in terms of usability and features.
