    Yeah, his illegal killing of a black bear in 2006 and his attempted cover-up of said killing makes his apology sound less than sincere.

      Even just the wording of the "apology" - he prioritized his defense as it being an "activity he loves and practices responsibly" before mentioning that he murdered a beloved animal. It's like when people say "sorry, no offense, but..." as if whatever they're about to say is okay. It just makes you want to punch them in the face, or maybe it's just me. Either way, I don't see how luring a protected animal out of a reserve with bait strapped to a truck in order to shoot it could be an activity that anyone should love.
