I am wondering if this altered the birth or abortion rates. I don't know that we could tease out that information due to all the other possible changes, but it would be interesting.

I came with the second Reddit mass Exodus. Not because the moderators shut down the subreddits or because the people were fired but because I was so tired of the memes and jokes in every single comment thread. It seemed like it was making its way into smaller and smaller threads and was just not worth it.

Man I am sad to see that. I would really wish that it wasn't the case. I can understand wanting to limit the language on the users front page. But I really would like to see this updated.

This makes me sad. Not that I can really understand other languages but it would be nice to not have to exclude those users.

I am stuck driving to work for now. I would really like to live within biking distance, but I think I would still drive in the winter. I take planes for long travel but I really wish there was a better option. To many delays and canceled flights.

I agree. I think this will follow him for a very long time.

Ok I seemed to have missed that reiteration. I saw a clip of him talking several days later (on fox I think?) where he stated something to the effect of "x% of women are raped crossing the boarder and the rapist have o be coming from somewhere". This is a very poor wording of his quote, so take it with a grain of salt, but he was again implying that a large percentage of the immigrates are criminals. I think this has been blown out of proportion but I really think he is also feeding it. It seems like he will clarify some and then backtrack back to the former statement. I almost think he is doing it on purpose, but I would have no idea what his goal would be. I don't think he is a viable candidate period. I don't think he understands politics, the media, or public relations.

He could have clarified without taking back. They are a lot better ways to word his comments.

So I think you left out some very important context on those quotes that lead to the outrage.

When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.

This leaves out that really, most of the immigrates coming over illegally probably aren't bad people. He implied that all Mexican's that come over are bad people. He also implies that Mexico is sending them over.

His biggest failure was his wording and then his double down. Clamming that the Mexican government pressured Univision to drop it's contract. He might have had some fair points, but they got lost on delivery and he refused to acknowledge his mistake.

I agree, the xp is causing me to join conversations when I normally wouldn't have. It is leading to more conversations.

First i want to say awesome post (should have said that earlier), don't know where else i would have seen this.

I agree that he was a little extreme on that one but when you take it with some of his other comments it can be viewed in a little better light. I think combined with we should reduce how many people attend college and change how we value degrees it isn't as bad. I think his view is there are a lot of jobs that require college degrees to be hired but don't really use them. I agree on that point, but I do think he is under valuing the experience and information that can be gained through classes and majors/minors in those fields. I personally think it's a difficult balance, currently us millennials (usa at least) are taking on a ton of student debt and spending years in college that might not really affect our job performance but are required to get the job.

The change in job opportunities is also reflected in the experience required. We are taking on unpaid internships to get experience so we can get entry level jobs. I'm fortunate to be working in a well paying job that I like, but many people are stuck in bad situations working for free or for pennies.

I'm off for the evening, will look to continue later if you have more thoughts.

So I would say the title is a little misleading. The discussion was actually very pro millennial from all the panelists. They did differ slightly on what the problem was/is but in general they did not blame the millennials. Over all it was a great discussion and brought up some very good points. I think they both had strong arguments and were well thought out and well discussed.

There were a few sins that he got wrong. Yes, its the whitest group ever but the mention that it was started from the British Aristocrats ie Lords and Ladies. They actually made multiple mentions to it. Otherwise pretty spot on, but I think the movie was suppose to be that way. It wasn't suppose to be anything more than a fun and ridiculous movie. Like Sharknadow but good.

If that is true I expect things to get very interesting in the political sphere. The Chinese government has been doing a lot of things related to the 'cultural identity', 'historic boarders', and other things related to national pride. If the economy really does take a downturn there, I would expect for the government to ramp these things up even more. Try and push hate and blame on the west while strengthening the resolve of the people. Its a common tactic for all governments (us vs them).
