"Reddit is full of information that sounds extremely plausible to a layperson, but in reality, is utterly false, inaccurate or misleading. And even when someone knowledgeable does attempt to correct for this, they get drowned out by all the votes coming from laypersons. Even the people using Reddit recognize this: one of the most upvoted posts in Reddit history, ironically enough, is a post telling people not to believe what they read on Reddit."

Its good that they start off with this. I don't know how many times the old Myth Busters "Pirates wore eye patches so they could see in the dark" on TIL and I got murdered for telling everyone they were wrong. Reddit is not the most trustworthy site to learn things. Myth Busters is also not the best place to learn history.
