This is the least of our problems. The issue here is not the American taxpayer's money, it's the very real possibility of a mass extinction of geological proportions, including humans.
There's this funny thing about the exponential function. It seems to be going up very slowly and then it goes boom. But you can't explain this to people who think this is not an issue because the second coming of Jesus will happen before the oceans boil or some other BS like that.
