Yeah I don't get this at all. It's a piece of carbon. One of the most plentiful substances on the planet. I can think of a thousand other ways to better use the money. I get that this isn't really about utility, but I can think of a thousand other ways to demonstrate my genuine love for someone as well. I've never bought a diamond and I never will.
