I'd love to try real sushi in Japan. The real stuff with the real wasabi.

I really dislike sushi.. I'll only eat chicken/beef/unagi (eel) variations, so when we went to the wedding (the reason we were over there) and one of the dishes put infront of us was sushi (forget what fish it was).. oh boy was that eaten and quickly followed up with a drink. Girlfriend said it was good.

Besides purchasing a train travel pass from a travel agent, we booked everything ourselves. Everyone told us that it was expensive over there. We ate like kings (eat out here you're spending $50+ minimum and getting an average feed, over there and $30 would have you rolling back to the hotel). I can't say enough good things about the place. Backpackers Hostels are amazing. You think of mass seedy backpacker places in Europe etc, not even remotely the same in Japan, so clean and nice. I think our last trip cost us $8-10k ($6-7k USD) for 30 days, including travel, food and spending money for two people.

We had friends tell us that in our trip, we saw more of Japan than most locals would see in their lifetime. Sad bit of trivia.
