    Girl shot with BB gun dies

    An 8-year-old girl hospitalized after being accidentally shot by her brother with a BB gun has died. Deborah Kay Schwartz of Grabill died at a local hospital after being taken away from her home at 8320 Ricker Road last Thursday. Police at the time said the girl had been accidentally shot in the eye with a BB gun by her 6-year-old brother. The Allen County Coroner’s Office on Monday said young Deborah died of a gunshot wound to the head. Her death was ruled the county’s first homicide of 2018.

    A 14-year-old girl who was the angelic face of an iconic Australian bushmen's hat brand was remembered by hundreds of mourners Friday after her suicide focused attention on the dangers of cyberbullying. The memorial service for Amy "Dolly" Everett was held in the tiny Northern Territory town of Katherine near her family's cattle ranch. Most mourners dressed in her favorite color, blue, and many had driven hundreds of miles from distant ranches.

    Constipation death 'wholly preventable'

    The mother of a man who died from complications related to constipation told an inquest his death was "wholly preventable". Richard Handley, who had Down's syndrome, died at Ipswich Hospital on 17 November 2012. Some 10kg (1.5 stone) of faeces was removed from his body two days before. The 33-year-old had been admitted from his supported living home after his family became concerned about his distended abdomen.

    Mother of 4 stabbed to death by homeless man she tried to help, family says

    A mother of four was stabbed to death in her downtown Denver loft by a man she was trying to help, according to a family member, reports CBS Denver. Jeanna Leslie, 49, had moved to Denver in November to be close to her two teenage children after their recent move from San Antonio. Police arrested the suspect, Terry Dunford, 40, around 11 p.m. Friday after a tip led them to his whereabouts. Arrest records show officers booked Dunford into a Denver detention center early Saturday morning on a charge of first degree murder.

    Performer dies after fall during Cirque du Soleil show

    The Tampa Police Department has started an investigation following the death performer at a Cirque du Soleil show Saturday night. The performer fell while swinging from an aerial strap. Video of the incident shows the man swinging over the audience before falling to the stage. Officials confirmed to FOX 13 that the performer was pronounced deceased after being taken a local hospital. Cirque du Soleil identified the victim as Yann Arnaud, and said he had been with the company for 15 years.

She had been stabbed to death, and her body was partly burned after her attackers apparently tried to set fire to the apartment.

    An 11Alive investigation uncovered a Georgia nursing home resident died from a scabies infestation. A forensic pathologist who reviewed the case estimates millions of parasitic mites essentially ate her alive over several months or possibly years. According to a pending lawsuit filed by the family, 93-year-old Rebecca Zeni died in 2015 from scabies at the facility. The autopsy report shows the cause of death as “septicemia due to crusted scabies.” State health officials were notified about a scabies outbreak at the nursing home multiple times, but did not inspect the LaFayette, G. facility.
