Review: ‘Stranger Things’ reinvents itself for a stellar Season 3

“Stranger Things” finally feels like a TV show. The first two seasons of Netflix’s hit supernatural saga felt structurally and thematically more like a film and its sequel than seasons of episodic television. In Season 1, a self-contained tale of the vanishing of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) the format worked, but trying to expand that same plot to a second season made for repetition and lazy storytelling.

New Coke Was a Debacle. It’s Coming Back. Blame ‘Stranger Things.’

New Coke, the soft drink that drew a nationwide backlash in 1985, is back. And the credit, or blame, for the return of Coca-Cola’s greatest folly goes to Netflix. A limited supply of the vintage beverage will be available starting on Thursday as part of a robust promotional campaign related to the coming season of “Stranger Things,” the supernatural thriller set in the 1980s. New Coke will also appear in several episodes of the show. Representatives of both companies said no money changed hands in that product-placement deal.

A secret Stranger Things game died before it was even announced

Telltale’s take on Stranger Things vanished when the studio collapsed. After years of turbulence at Telltale from problematic management and constant crunch, the company closed its doors suddenly in September 2018. It left 250 people with no jobs, no severance, and only days left on their health insurance. In-progress projects, like Stranger Things and a second season of The Wolf Among Us, were killed. The popular Netflix show exists as a video game adaptations with other developers, but Telltale’s game wasn’t the only project that died with the studio.

'Stranger Things' Creators Headed to Trial for Allegedly Stealing Idea for Netflix Series

A judge denies summary judgment to Matt and Ross Duffer as they — and Netflix— quickly fight to guard information about dealmaking and future plot points from becoming public next month. In the realm of the supernatural, a secret governmental project investigating the paranormal qualifies as remarkable. So, too, does a potential trial exploring whether Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer stole the idea for their Netflix show from a guy who allegedly pitched a project at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival.

How Eleven came to be: ‘Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds’ prequel book gives backstory

Before “Stranger Things” fans can watch what happens next to Eleven on Season 3 of Netflix’s hit series, they can read about what happened before she was born. The first official “Stranger Things” novel from Del Rey Books, a prequel out Tuesday, goes back to 1969, with plenty of cultural references to The Beatles, the Vietnam War, the moon landing and "Lord of the Rings" to prove it. “Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds” tells the story of Eleven’s mother, Terry Ives.
