    Seltzer Works

In the early 1900s thousands of seltzer deliverymen criss-crossed the nation, schlepping heavy glass bottles full of fizzy water to millions of thirsty customers. Today, with only a handful of deliverymen left in the country, the siphon machines at Gomberg Seltzer Works don't turn like they used to. Most of the old customers have passed on (or moved to Florida). But there are still bubbles being made by third-generation seltzer filler Kenny Gomberg.

A Life-Sized Mannequin Stop Motion Animated with the Help of Strangers

Artist Anton Hecht recently created an unusual stop motion film using photos of a giant life-sized mannequin. Instead of doing the animation themselves, the team invited random strangers who were walking by to help move the dummy around in the public square. The video above is what resulted from their help under careful direction.

Moving & Being Moved: Poetry As Practice

To mark the completion of — and provide some insight in to the work which collectively comprised — Rhizome and the New Museum's online-only Poetry as Practice exhibition, Sophie Collins sent a single set of questions to all six contributors, relaying below each of their voices in response to the ideas of translation and performance, poetry as media and digital media, the influence of the reader or viewer and the possible collapsing of 'poetry' as a discrete category.

    Pacer

Pacer looked at the world in a way no film had before it. The geometry of the city and its construction, the artistry of Montreal's landscape seen the hyper-prism of a camera racing through time on different dimension. Compressed imagery and physical motion combine in a never-been-seen-before kind of way.

X-ray Body in Motion - Yoga

A visual study/exploration of the body in motion with a focus on yoga poses. Our goal for this piece was to create a realistic representation of radiological (x-ray) imaging. Instead of just creating a still image, however, we wanted to combine the beautiful moves of yoga with this new visual approach to bring the full human skeleton to life. Technical challenges included aspects such as achieving proper bone densities and representing actual bone marrow inside each individual bone. Quick note:

Wanderers - a short film by Erik Wernquist

Wanderers is a vision of humanity's expansion into the Solar System, based on scientific ideas and concepts of what our future in space might look like, if it ever happens. Without any apparent story, other than what you may fill in by yourself, the idea of the film is primarily to show a glimpse of the fantastic and beautiful nature that surrounds
