Most people wouldn't really consider me to be a big retro gamer, but I love old games. I've tried collecting the SNES and the n64 libraries before (PAL), but everytime I get into it, I give up. My collections are at five games in total for each system and I consider them complete for me. Both those collections are just the games that I played when I was a kid either at my house, or at friends houses... I never even owned a SNES. My parents weren't too fond of videogames and didn't tend to buy many (we never rented either), but I don't think I lost out. I loved the games I had, I played them to death, and I love playing them again now. It's hard to build nostalgia on games I can't remember playing, so I am not going to bother.

Collections are: N64: Mario Kart, Wave Race, Mario 64, Wayne Gretzkys 3D hockey, and Goldeneye. Snes: Link to the past, Mario Allstars, Street Fighter 2, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Kart.

Adult me on the other hand... well... Adult me has a bit of a problem. I've always wanted a complete collection and I am finally giving it a go at the age of 30. I didn't play the Gamecube the first time around, but due to the amazing library, and the current cost of Gamecube titles... I am giving it a go! About 160 games in and loving it! I think its terribly underrated for what it is... but I shouldn't start about getting into that uninvited because you may not have the hours free to read the end of the post..

Edit: On a side note, I also have the original Gameboy clearcase model too, just like I had as a kid. Home consoles were never big in the house as I mentioned earlier, but I did alright with the Gameboy. Games are dirt cheap for that system too, and if I see games I played as a kid, I pick them up. I still rank Link's Awakening as the best gaming experience I ever had. Listening to Ballad of the Windfish still makes me teary.

One memory that always brings a smile to my face is ten year old me buying primal rage, being ridiculously disapointed with the shitfest it was, and trying to take it back to the store owner for a refund. My logic behind him having to refund me was that there was an error with the game because "default" changed all my settings. Did not understand what default meant, just thought it meant error.
