Donkeys reunited at Polish zoo after sex scandal
Napoleon is now back with his Antosia. The two amorous donkeys who were separated because of an outcry over their lovemaking have been reunited at a zoo in Poland. The couple, together for 10 years, got into trouble when mothers expressed outrage that children had to witness their mating. Local conservative official Lydia Dudziak took up their cause and persuaded the director of the zoo in Poznan to have the animals put in separate pens.

Polanski to cooperate in Poland
Roman Polanski has said he will cooperate with Polish authorities over an extradition request to the US, where he is wanted for a 1977 sex case. The Oscar-winning director, who is currently working on a film in Krakow, served 42 days for unlawful sex with a 13-year-old before fleeing the country. Polish prosecutors have confirmed they will question the 81-year-old, who has both Polish and French passports. Polanski said he had "confidence in Poland's justice system".

In the minutes before a 2010 plane crash that killed Poland's president, members of the president's entourage urged the crew to land despite thick fog, according to what a radio station said was a leaked transcript of cockpit conversations. In the transcript, the crew on several occasions ask people to be quiet or to leave the cockpit, and conversations suggest people in or around the cockpit were drinking beer, though there is no indication the crew themselves consumed alcohol.

Poland’s foreign ministry urgently summoned US ambassador Stephen Mull on Sunday, to “protest and demand an apology”, saying the head of the FBI had suggested that Poles were accomplices in the Holocaust. After meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Leszek Soczewica on Sunday, Mull said he would urgently contact the FBI and Washington about the matter. Earlier in the day, Mull said in Polish that Comey’s words were “wrong, harmful and offensive”, and didn’t reflect the US administration’s views.

150 Syrian Christian refugees arrive in Poland
Some 50 Christian families fleeing war in Syria have arrived in Poland to begin new lives. A chartered plane from Beirut carrying about 150 refugees landed in Warsaw late Friday. The Syrians are being taken to a hotel, and within days they will begin the process of requesting asylum and being placed in housing. A few spoke to reporters, but they refused to be photographed or filmed, fearful of putting loved ones back home at more risk.
