The man who allegedly destroyed the new Ten Commandments monument at the Arkansas Capitol was accused in 2014 of destroying a similar statue at the Oklahoma Capitol. Secretary of State’s Office spokesman Chris Powell says Capitol Police arrested Michael Reed, 32, early Wednesday. Police have not released additional details about his motives in Arkansas, but in a Facebook video, he said he was defending constitutional rights to all religions. He blamed psychotic breaks in the 2014 Oklahoma incident.

Footage of a school bus dashcam shows the moment a vehicle packed with children narrowly missed a major crash. The video, captured last Wednesday in Oklahoma City, shows a car moving into the right lane as a truck driving in the opposite direction suddenly crosses into oncoming traffic. The temblor triggered fears that key infrastructure may have been damaged and century-old buildings left unsafe in the latest Oklahoma town rattled by increasingly strong quakes. Cushing Assistant City Manager Jeremy Frazier told a news conference late Sunday that a few minor injuries were reported. He said the damage appeared to be contained to downtown, where piles of debris sat at the base of some commercial buildings.

An earthquake measuring 5.1 in magnitude hit the US state of Oklahoma in the Midwest on Saturday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported. The tremor was registered just after 11 am local time (5 pm GMT). A 3.9-magnitude aftershock was reported 10 minutes later.
