    I'm 99% impressed with my peers, who are others from Reddit, the only thing that has kind of annoyed me is every single day I receive one downvote, just one! I've never gotten a reason and no one's ever said anything to me about it. That's incredibly frustrating. Otherwise everyone has been an absolute pleasure to talk to! I think it's really important to keep having these conversations a month, year, and even years down the road so we can continue to strive for that greatness. Really this conversation should just be perpetual.

    PS: I'd like to see less 'putting down' of ideas in /t/ideasforsnapzu. There is a difference between a BAD idea and an ideal that doesn't do anything for you. You don't need to tell OP that his idea is useless every time it doesn't benefit you. Just leave it alone! ^_^

    Nuff said, voy out!

      Reddit was a pretty nice and decent place in the early years. It's the influx of juvenile idiots that come with popular acceptance of a site that is the problem. Early adopters tend to be ahead of the curve in more ways than one.

        I didn't come from Digg and missed Reddit early on so my only experience with is was from about three years ago to now. Perhaps things were better back when I first joined but if they were I don't remember so I have nothing else to compare to. It's like night and day here and I think the vast majority of the users here are good people and are doing a great job! :)

          Digg was always a shithole but Reddit was really friendly when I joined in January 07.

            Yeah I only got started on Reddit in '12 so I totally missed those days and have zero context of what it was like when it was 'nice'.

              Well, it was more or less like it is here now. Only more light blue in color :-D

              @oystein -

              You never realize these are the good old days when you're in them.

              @VoyagerXyX -

              we can refer to them as the 'good new days' for the time being!

            I started about the same time as you. Snapzu reminds me so much of those early days on Reddit (pre -Digg collapse).

      I don't know why anyone would downvote you. I feel like you're my spiritual Snapzu buddy because I see you everywhere posting the same content that I enjoy. :D

      To add a comment that isn't completely unrelated, I'm inclined to agree with you. I feel like most of the people who have accepted the invite from Reddit and don't appreciate the culture we are cultivating here, simply don't participate in it. I feel almost pressured to make worthwhile comments here while on Reddit I was typically traipsing about with no regard for discussion and this mad cash grab for karma.

        That's nice of you to say :P I'll take spiritual Snapzu buddy as a compliment! :D

        Yeah, I feel like the system here works because you can be a level 50 but a very brief glance at someones profile overview will tell you very quickly what kind of user they are. There is a lot more to this place than just a users level. I know many people don't agree with me but I think the checks and balances between administration, Rep, XP, and user feedback will keep the majority in line and continuing to post quality content that people look forward to reading every day.

      I'm going to copy what I wrote last night for what I think about down votes here:

      If the post that was down voted received nothing but down votes, then it would have a score of 0 or less, and would be easy to identify. If that's not the case, that means that there's someone out there that agreed with you/liked your idea/felt that you contributed something positive to the discussion. Most likely, more than one. So if you make it your goal to not make that kind of comment again, then sure, it's possible you won't be down voted, but you'll also be robbing others of a positive experience.

      TL;DR: Stop worrying about your down votes, count your up votes instead.

        That's a good way to look at things and I do my best to practice this every day! :D

        Perhaps, but I have hundreds of fans, so I'm not super worried about it. Just disappointed. :P

      How do you know you were downvoted?

        By clicking your reputation number it provides updates on the success/failure of your snaps/comments and such. I saw it was a snap that got downvoted so I backtracked through my snap list and found the one with a downvote arrow.
