2015.07.23 Daily Dose: Your Favorite Snaps this Week?

The Daily Dose is a user-created discussion series where Snapzu members can check in with each other in a relaxed environment.
We are experimenting with different formats and ideas, so feedback is very welcome!

Happy Thursday, Snapzu! And welcome to all those that joined the site this week. :)

I hope everyone has been having a nice week. Can you believe we're over half-way through the summer? Whew! At least the weekend is round the corner; if you have exciting plans lined up, definitely share with us! :)

So today we wanted to check in on what people were reading and enjoying on Snapzu. What was your favorite snap from within the last week or two and why? Any particular discussion threads catch your attention? Any general Snapzu moments you really enjoyed? Share it all!

Reminder

It’s time to offer your suggestions for the August book club book. Visit this thread at /t/bookclub and offer your suggestions for a science fiction book and a nonfiction memoir you would like to read and discuss during the month of August. We’ll begin voting on the 25th and announce the winners on the last day of the month.

Honestly, basically anything by /u/AdelleChattre and /u/BlueOracle. They always post some really interesting things.

I'm slowly becoming more and more convinced that you're some kind of bot capable of passing a Turing test with sensors that go off everytime someone posts something interesting on the internet.

More like a procrastination bot, built to avoid any of the actual things that need doing in the real world on any given day. Still, I’ll take any compliments anyone’s nice enough to give, thanks. Dig your stuff. Apparently, a little too much. Noticed just now that I’d re-posted a snap of yours. Do please forgive me.

Hahaha, you are forgiven. I make the same mistake with yours many times a day.

I've been thoroughly enjoying many of the threads on the /t/asksnapzu tribe as well as /t/lounge, which helps us to get to know each other and have some generally lighthearted conversations!

As for something that caught my eye this past week or two... the recent posts and discussions in regards to the voting system have helped us greatly carve out a great plan for updating the voting system as a whole. We have some really great ideas and I will be posting about it in the next few days with concepts, designs which I will use to describe in detail what we plan on doing. Very excited about it actually!

The voting system has been a hot topic here for the past few weeks, and everyone has brought in very good points. I'm very excited to see what you guys have come up with!

There has been a lot of quality discussions regarding the voting system and in general, the improvement of Snapzu. It is awesome to see this community so involved and for everyone to put their heads together and help figure out a solution. I am excited to see what the team behind Snapzu has in store for us.

A great discussion that happened earlier this week: Voting system and all sub-systems dependent on it by /u/drunkenninja in /t/blog. Although it was more of an update post, a lot of members of the community jumped in and offered their ideas to the table. It was great to see high-quality discussion. Many people joined in each conversation to work through the idea and to provide their perspective. I really think there was a wealth of great ideas here and I hope it helped the admins in deciding their direction with the system.

Programming Sucks by /u/cringe is a nice and funny writeup illustrating the daily life of a programmer with crazy analogies.

Well, it wasn't a discussion thread, but Edge of Stability posted by nickcobb was one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen and it was fantastic to find such a gem on snapzu that I have honestly not seen anywhere else.
