Here are some books I've enjoyed this year and last:

Fools guild mysteries. I started with The Widow Of Jerusalem by Alan Gordon. Amusing, entertaining medieval mysteries.

SF. Louis MsMaster Bujold Miles Vorkosigan books. A most unlikely protagonist who uses brains not brawn. It's a big series and worth your while.

SF. The Hunger Games. Suzanne Collins. You should have heard of this..I found them real page turners.

SF. Mira Grant: Parasite. A futuristic trilogy where parasites are inserted into humans to prevent diseases. Things are fine and dandy till the parasites decide to stop playing second fiddle. Two books in the series so far. Excellent!

I like SF with just aliens, here are some I enjoyed:

    Dragon's Egg Robert Forward. An oldie but a goodie..No dragons,but it's interesting.

Walls of Ancient Stone ; K.L. Schaefer Compelling protagonist who hopes to make big changes in his opressive society. I could not put it down.

The Caring Shell; KL Schaefer Short but thought provoking novelette about a group of Sharns and how one deals with being held against e's will in a different clan than e's own.

Once Upon A Cloud; K.L. Schaefer Also a short story of a cloud creature and how he lives his life.
