I think the strong point of Reddit was its community. It was huge. There were things for every subject out there. Yeah, with that comes its load of bigotry, racism and other shameful characters, but it was like home. Unfortunately, Reddit currently suffers from its bad management and Ellen Pao's regime. Its for-profit nature took over the usefulness.

I would love to jump ships, but I was primarily a mobile user. Anyways, I'll try it out. Community here seems friendly! Should make for interesting discussions, a thing I didn't have on Reddit for a very long time - on defaults anyway...

You are right. I was often getting the feeling that Reddit is too big to have my opinion in there, so I preferred to just lurk. I'm sure as this place grows, it will be pretty much the same, but I'm hoping that the community will remain as friendly and helpful.

From what I understand work is being done on an API to support mobile apps for integration, and it should be ready in the following months.

I'm definitely going to check out that API once it gets out... Interesting.
