We won't open the floodgates in the classical sense for a while, as the invite system is responsible for keeping us online even if somewhat sluggish. Currently we are focused on fixing the hosting situation as well as working out a plan to scale better in the future. We hope to have most of the issues resolved by middle of next week as we were caught off guard over the weekend because some of us were out of town and only on their phones!
There's no sorted list that I've found, but you can get an idea of the large tribes by looking at the tribe index or by going to your tribe list and selecting "Top" instead of "My Memberships". Here's a link using your profile.
Looks like /t/technology is the largest with 11,295 members compared to the 9k from /t/lounge.

No, not everyone is a member of the lounge tribe. There is closer to about 14,000 member at this moment.

I believe its about 3,000+ and about 15,000 invite requests awaiting since we cannot send them out at this point due to traffic constrains.
