Hi /u/jarekb84 - At this point you cannot change the type after it has been published, but we are considering allowing people the option to change it within the first 15 minutes.

Ah I see it now when I try to create a new post. I like the idea the 15min window, but could it be made a required field before a post is published? Very easy to miss this as a new user.

Since this is the post type, how does categorization work? Is there anything I can do to make posts show up under "Technology & Web" or other categories?

We are planning to update the process to include a reminded popup for new users that have missed their "content type" selection. This will be release in our next update. As for categorization, the content type is used to sort out what kind of content something is at its core level, and categories (ie. front page) sort out content based on the tribes it has been posted into. Two different approaches that when mixed together become very powerful content filtering tools.

For example: I can choose my content type as "image" and then select the general category being "Science and Space". This will show me all images related to "Science and Space" posted across all tribes that belong to that general category.

Is there something that needs to configured in tribe management to categorize it properly or is this somehow automated?
