Slow UI response
Has anyone else noticed that the UI seems to hang a lot? I'll click something and wonder if it registered the click. A friend remarked on the same thing.
I chalk it up to the influx of new users and the site not having the same cloud of servers that reddit boasts, but I wonder if the nature of the UI might not contribute to that. I assume it's java-heavy?

For me it's mostly down to the servers processing the request. Sometimes I'm trying to post a link and it keeps processing for at least 20 seconds. I'm not even sure if it's a bad thing. since it discourages spamming, though it can get pretty frustrating at one point. At least pages load relatively fast for me.
No slowness here.
I think you meant to post this on voat.co =P
Snapzu has been very snappy and responsive for me living in the Midwest United States.
Yeah, I haven't looked at voat and I don't plan to. ;)
The pages load pretty snappy. But when I click on things like notifications or the like it sometimes takes a while.
Gotta visit the main links.
My guess would be that the UI is JavaScript heavy (though I haven't looked myself) - but the problem wouldn't really be the UI itself, it would be the added load on the server in handling the extra requests from all of us new users.
Most UI actions that I can see pull back content from the server rather than being rendered by the client. For example. Pressing on Notification History, Search, or even Reply on a comment sends a request to the server which will then respond with the HTML to inject back into the page. If there is a higher than normal load on the server these requests will be a little sluggish.
Yep, that's what I said, too :)
I have noticed a little stuttering when scrolling. Also, sometimes the banner images follow me as I scroll down and disappear when I scroll up. Not a big problem, but something to look at.
I haven't noticed any slowness so far.
