I think voat has a potential, but they are simply squashed by the reddit's hug of death and exodus. Those guys should seize the opportunity and take a bank loan to get the servers up - I mean, right now is their golden hour.
However, I've also read that they had made some rather unfortunate software choices that would have made the further scaling up of their project rather troublesome.

That's a risk though. It would be a shame for them to shell out all this money for more servers, then to have the fickle Rexodus leave again.
