That’s “SnapIt!” It’s a bit of Javascript code that you can bookmark. What it’s meant to do is help you to submit snaps more easily. Say you’ve found a webpage you’d like to submit as a snap, you can hit the bookmark, which invokes the code, preparing a snap for you. You can get to it from your Profile Overview on the right under a button called Bookmark. Hit that button and a popup appears with the bookmarklet itself. Drag it to your bookmark bar, then hit SnapIt! whenever you like. It’s trickier with mobile browsers but it can be made to work. However, it’s failing most of the time and has for the last few days. When it works, though, it’s a gas!

Oh yeah, I have it but I never remember to use it. Perhaps I'll try it again. Do you have to update it? Has the javascript changed lately?

I don’t believe so. The Javascript we see looks like so much syntactic sugar, so it would seem the internals aren’t exposed. DrunkenNinja’s the authority there..

When I try it, it just tells me it can't bookmark https sites. So not much use to me ATM.

Secure HTTP adoption's soared lately. I'd assumed Apache and other server software collectively threw a switch or sumpthin' but whatever it was, it's got springs and sparks flying out all over the place. It'll settle down sometime.

Well put! We will overhaul the bookmarklet to hopefully work with 90%+ of webpages in the next couple of weeks. Any feedback of URLS that are not working with the bookmarklet would be very helpful however, please PM me, or post here and I will use along with my own testing to improve as much as possible.
