Harry Potter author JK Rowling defends Donald Trump's right to be offensive at a literary event in New York, after last year saying he was worse than her fictional villain, Voldemort.

GCHQ, the UK's surveillance agency, intervened to help prevent the sixth Harry Potter instalment leaking online, the book's publisher has said. Bloomsbury's Nigel Newton said GCHQ contacted him in 2005 after it apparently discovered an early copy of The Half Blood-Prince on the internet. However, after a page was read to an editor, it was determined to be fake. A spokesperson for GCHQ told the Sunday Times: "We don't comment on our defence against the dark arts."

The Harry Potter author JK Rowling has shared some withering rebuffs publishers sent to her alter ego Robert Galbraith, in an effort to comfort aspiring authors. Rowling posted the rejection letters on Twitter after a request from a fan. They related to The Cuckoo’s Calling, her first novel as Galbraith. But Rowling also saw Harry Potter turned down several times before the boy wizard became one of the greatest phenomena...

While Jacob was rumoured to be Newt Scamander's rival in the series, Deadline is saying the complete opposite - Jacob is an American MUGGLE whom Scamander befriends. This may mean that the American wizard Ezra Miller is rumoured to play - NOT Kredan - could be the rival in question.

Actress Alison Sudol has been confirmed to play Queenie, younger sister of Porpentina/Tina (Katherine Waterston), in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them films. Ezra Miller is also confirmed to join the cast, presumably playing the American wizard named Kredan rumoured before.
