Samsung made YouTube remove video of GTA mod that turns Note 7 into a bomb
Samsung apparently doesn't see much humor in a Grand Theft Auto V mod that turns the recalled, hazardous Galaxy Note 7 into an in-game weapon. In fact, the company is trying to erase it from the internet completely. Samsung has issued a DMCA takedown targeting a YouTube video that showcased the mod, which gives the Note 7 explosive, grenade-like capabilities. It was a pretty great way of poking fun at Samsung's ongoing PR crisis — and now the company is responding in a terrible way: ridiculous overreach and misuse of the DMCA tool.

Easter eggs evolved: Why gamers spent 3-years-plus studying GTAV’s Mount Chiliad
This unsolved mystery is a perfect artifact of communal sleuthing in the Reddit age. Just below the peak of Mount Chiliad, a huge mountain in the far north of San Andreas, a mysterious mural sits high atop a cliff face. It looks like a map of the mountain's interior—a network of tunnels that connect five small chambers and three large ones with what appear to be a UFO, an egg, and a jetpack within them. Whether it's actually a map isn't clear. Nearby, painted on the bottom edge of a lookout platform, are the words "come back when your journey is complete." And beneath that, painted on the ground, there's a red eye.

Rockstar Reveals Why GTA V Didn't Get A Story Expansion, Reaffirms Commitment To Single-Player
When I think of the qualities that define a Rockstar game, the first things that come to mind are open-world innovation, an unparalleled understanding of pop culture, and compelling storytelling. The latter is why I count myself among those disappointed that Rockstar never made a story expansion for Grand Theft Auto V.

How Grand Theft Auto created a virtual underground clubbing scene
In 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the first record you hear on a car radio is Billie Jean, no matter what you drive. Unseen code binds this piece of music to an important point in time and the experience of being behind the wheel. When I first got my driving licence, I recreated the moment in my crappy Vauxhall Astra, so strong was the association. In video games such as GTA, as in real life, music and memories are closely interlinked.

GTA 5 Has Made More Money Than Any Film, Book or Game, Says Analyst
Industry analyst Doug Creutz says Grand Theft Auto 5 has made money than any other form of media in history, with over 90 million units sold and $6 billion in revenue. Creutz, managing director and senior research analyst covering the media and entertainment sector at Cowen, told MarketWatch that the game has made more than blockbuster movies like Star Wars, and Gone With The Wind, which both brought in around $3 billion in theaters when adjusted for inflation. Creutz estimates that even with home entertainment sales, which he puts in the ballpark of $1 billion, the films don't come close to Rockstar's 2013 title.

Can Grand Theft Auto V help your mental health? Yes, say role-players
It isn’t the tumbling, 360-degree views of San Andreas that command our undivided attention from the top of Mount Chiliad. Nor is it the whir of the cable cars. And it’s not the blanket of mist that engulfs the valley below, nor the implacable sunrise that invades every inch of the towering cliffside’s crevices and chasms. At 2,619 feet above sea level, our group of five is hanging on every word of Craig (not his real name), an unassuming Grand Theft Auto V role-player...
