A Brief History of Graffiti (2015)
Dr Richard Clay goes in search of what it is that has made us scribble and scratch mementoes of our lives for more than 30,000 years. From the prehistoric cave paintings of Burgundy in France, through gladiatorial fan worship in Roman Lyons to the messages left on the walls of Germany's Reichstag in 1945 by triumphant Soviet troops, time and again we have wanted to leave a permanent record of our existence for our descendants. And it may be that this is where what today we call art comes from - the humble scratch, graffiti.

The remains of Brooklyn’s disappearing industrial waterfront
Graffiti artists had begun covering the empty warehouse in elaborate murals, and in 2016, a partial vacate order was placed on the buildings next door for illegal dumping of asbestos and other hazardous waste. Several other major violations were also cited in 2016 at the property’s southernmost warehouses, which had become a canvas for large-scale graffiti works. None of these violations appear to have been resolved, and the entire campus is currently being left wide open to the elements.

Vagabundos & Dragonfly by Venom
Yesterday I had the opportunity to paint at a cd presentation of a locally known band, Vagabundos. Besides the great music, all kinds of acts were there, including a fire-show, all kinds of water themed games (the weather was blistering hot), several top dj's from the underground dub-scene, good food from a Brazilian chef and free for those with a red wristband. :-) So there. It was a great day. :-) Edit: pesky form again. :-)

Kindergarten Decorations
3.5 Days of being disturbed by the same questions, got sand pizza's and sand ice creams served, built a bridge in between sketching, had to explain the workings of a rainbow and one brave young man dared to guess my age right (and ran away, laughing hysterically). Yeah, more of these, please. :-)
