Good comms. are directly related to map knowledge, which comes from experience in playing the map. Even if you don't know where the players are going to be coming from, good comms. will at the least give your teammates an advantage after you die.
In matchmaking, you'll often hear someone repeat a call 2 or 3 or 5 times. That's because they want to convey the importance or urgency of the positioning callout. Usually, though, it just muddies comms for the whole team. It's panicky and distracting. Even the NA pros do the same thing.
Most Euro teams have very calm and direct callouts. The effect that has is calming on the whole team, I think, allowing you to focus better.
