According to Sigourney Weaver, James Cameron was a fan of Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 plans. Blomkamp’s plans for the sequel ultimately fell through, but not due to any lack of support from the director of Aliens. If anything, Weaver and Cameron would still like to see Blomkamp’s vision make it onto the big screen. Back in 2015, Blomkamp – who is best known for District 9 – was signed on by Foxto create Alien 5. The film would have been a direct sequel to Aliens, thereby eliminating the events that happened in Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection. Not much was ever revealed about the plot, but concept art showed that Ripley would have reunited

A new chapter in Breaking Bad is in the works. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is working on a two-hour movie, though it remains unclear if that will be released theatrically or made for television. Representatives for Gilligan and Breaking Bad producers Sony Pictures Television did not immediately respond to THR's requests for comment.

Just yesterday, it was reported that legendary film composer Ennio Morricone had allegedly savaged iconic director Quentin Tarantino in an interview with Playboy Germany.

After two rounds playing the ex-military cop Jack Reacher on the big screen, Tom Cruise is officially out of the franchise. Work on the Metro 2033 film that was announced in 2016 has been halted and the rights have reverted to Dmitry Glukhovsky, the author of the 2005 novel on which the movie was meant to be based. The reason, Glukhovsky told VG247, is that scriptwriter F. Scott Frazier had intended to "Americanize" the setting by moving it from Moscow to Washington DC, and it just wasn't working out.

Netflix released their January releases for 2019 today, and while no specific day was given, the release did reveal that Punisher season 2 will be released in January. It looks like you won't have to wait much longer to see Frank Castle's newest adventure, and most likely it will be his final on Netflix. Over the course of his career in Hollywood, Keanu Reeves has played no shortage of bad ass heroes, but he's yet to play a superhero. While speaking with ScreenGeek alongside Alice Eve about their upcoming film Replicas, Reeves revealed that he would love the chance to play Wolverine in a big Marvel movie.

IMAX hit a record $1 billion global box office in 2018, bolstered by Marvel Studios’ Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, Deadline reports. Marvel Studios really knows how to build up its audience for a film. They had a massive year with major Box Office hits in Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther. Ant-Man and the Wasp also left a great mark on the companies’ Box Office success by outpacing its predecessor and leaving a great mark on an incredible year. Now, all eyes are on 2019 and if it could top last year’s success.

Paramount Pictures is setting Craig Brewer to direct Coming To America 2, finally bringing to the starting gate the sequel to the 1988 blockbuster comedy. Eddie Murphy is poised to reprise his role as Akeem, the pampered African prince who became bored of potential marriage partners in the kingdom too in awe of him, and who traveled to Queens to go undercover and find a woman with a strong will that he could respect.
