A homeless Air Force veteran will soon move into his childhood home, thanks to hard work of local volunteers. Volunteers with the Home Depot Foundation and the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation (HVAF) are working to transform the home of U.S. Air Force veteran, Michael Malone. The Indy native served actively for four years and in the reserves for 15 years.

Ok we're understating it, the Philando Feeds The Children Fund has raised an incredible $106,000. It was set up by diversity and ethics students at Metro State University in memory of the J.J. Hill Montessori cafeteria worker, who was shot dead by police in July 2016.

When Nicole Grimes, from the US state of Pennsylvania, spotted a pomeranian-poodle cross for adoption on Facebook, she thought it looked strangely familiar. Nicole says she was reminded of her beloved childhood puppy called Chloe, so she decided to adopt the 11-year-old dog "on a whim". Speaking to the BBC, Nicole said: "When I found out they were both called Chloe it was really strange. "It just clicked when she was introduced to me as Chloe." Nicole described the moment when she came face-to-face with her 'new' dog.

An off-duty State Police trooper saved the life of a choking newborn over the weekend, officials said Monday. Trooper Robert Meyer was asleep at his Piscatwaway home Saturday afternoon when the grandmother of a two-week-old girl rushed to his house in search of help for the baby who was blue and struggling to breathe, police said.

Firefighters Save 14 Dogs, Puppies From Burning Detroit Home
Detroit firefighters went the extra length to save a group of dogs and puppies from a house fire. The fire took off Tuesday afternoon at a home on Plainview, near Evergreen Road and Warren Avenue on the city’s west side. As many as 17 dogs, including a litter of puppies, were trapped the basement full of smoke, according to Deputy Fire Commissioner Dave Fornell.

Student raises thousands to save puppy
A labrador puppy that was to be put down because its owners could not afford life-saving surgery has been saved by a student veterinary nurse who stepped in at the last moment. Fay Alsworth from St Clement Veterinary Clinic in Truro, Cornwall, raised £3,000 in six days to pay for Nelly to have a specialist operation in Somerset. The dog has been suffering with a liver shunt and her new owners said they had not had a chance to arrange pet insurance before she was diagnosed.

Chris Kendall performed CPR on heart attack victim Allan Hainey for 15 minutes but he was told later by police that Allan had passed away. Five months later, Chris, 32, got a text from Allan thanking him for saving his life.
