In our recent interview with Nanjiani (coming soon online and in the new issue of Rolling Stone), he also discusses his role in 2022’s Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, in which Ewan McGregor reprises the title role for the first time since 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. Amid a huge lawsuit, concerns emerge about Disneyland's employee pay
“We feel like there’s always somebody else that will fill our spot,” Disneyland cast member Gabriel Sarracino told SFGATE, “and we’re just there.” Sarracino has worked at the Disneyland Hotel for 15 years as a valet, parking cars and assisting guests with their luggage. For all of those 15 years, he’s earned minimum wage from Disney and supplemented his income with tips. But a recent decision from leadership that prevents valets from handling luggage has cut substantially into his earnings.

How Jake Gyllenhaal Helped Marvel Create the MCU's Captain America
Captain America is no doubt one of the most recognizable characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, mainly because of the impressive portrayal of Chris Evans. The actor was first introduced as the Star-Spangled hero during 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, and the character has since left a mark in the eyes of MCU fans ever since.

Loki is as queer as Disney’s ever been — that’s just math
Disney is notorious for pushing its queer characters to the sidelines. Sometimes you can barely tell if they’re there at all, like Oaken’s maybe-husband in Frozen, or LeFou’s longing for Gaston in the live-action Beauty and the Beast. Then there are more prominent side characters in Disney-owned properties, like Joe Russo’s cameo in Avengers: Endgame, or the background lesbian kiss in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that could be easily edited out.

The MCU was Disney’s answer to The Office all along
In 2019, when forces like WarnerMedia, NBCUniversal, and Viacom were just gearing up to take on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon in the “streaming wars,” one of the greatest causes for consternation was The Office. Specifically, the fact that the NBC sitcom was leaving Netflix for the network’s own upcoming streaming service, Peacock.

Why the MCU's lighting kind of sucks
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fandom is a fount of strong opinions, some of which I find wholly understandable (Tilda Swinton’s role was a fiasco; Sebastian Stan is an underrated gem) while others are a little more… puzzling. In the latter category, it’s always bizarre to see people praise the MCU’s lighting.

All of Disney's streaming services are booming
Very quickly, Disney has become perhaps the dominant force in the video streaming world. Just about six months after the company announced it had over 100 million streaming video subscribers, Disney has revealed it has almost that many on Disney+ alone. In today’s earnings report covering the last quarter of 2020, Disney announced that it now has 94.9 million Disney+ subscribers, 39.4 million Hulu subscribers and 12.1 million ESPN+ subscribers. Overall, Disney is up to 146 million streaming video subscribers all told, with Disney+ a force to be reckoned with.
