New Algorithm Paves the Way Towards Error-Free Quantum Computing
No one likes noise when they’re working through a difficult problem. Quantum computers are no different, and now researchers have devised a new way to estimate how noise can throw their calculations off, a big step towards making the technology practical. The quantum states at the heart of today’s quantum computers are fragile things. They are highly susceptible to disturbances from everything from stray magnetic fields to the minuscule imperfections in the control electronics or materials used to build the device.

‘Quantum go machine’ plays ancient board game using entangled photons
A quantum-mechanical version of the ancient board game go has been demonstrated experimentally by physicists in China. Using entangled photons, the researchers placed go pieces (called stones) in quantum superpositions to vastly increase the complexity of the game. They foresee the technology serving as the ultimate test for machine players that use ever more sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI).

AMD's Big Navi Graphics Card May Feature 16GB of GDDR6 Memory [Rumor]
AMD’s much anticipated “Big Navi” graphics card based on the RDNA 2 graphics architecture may feature a whopping 16GB of GDDR6 memory as per a Chiphell source. Before we continue, please keep in mind that this is an unconfirmed rumor and as such, we can’t confirm or deny the possibility. At the same time, considering the company’s recent campaign belittling 4GB graphics cards, it’s very possible that Big Navi will take this route.

Apple Officially Obsoletes First MacBook Pro With a Retina Display
As expected, Apple's first MacBook Pro with a Retina display is now officially classed as "obsolete" worldwide, just over eight years after its release. In a support document, Apple notes that obsolete products are no longer eligible for hardware service, with "no exceptions." This means that any mid-2012 Retina MacBook Pro 15-inch models still out there that require a battery or other repairs will no longer be accepted by Apple.
