TV personality known for playing Bozo the Clown dies at 89
Longtime Boston television personality and entertainer Frank Avruch, who was the star of the popular children's TV program Bozo the Clown, has died. He was 89. Avruch died Tuesday at his Boston home from heart disease, his family said in a statement to WCVB-TV. Avruch played Bozo the Clown from 1959 to 1970, a clown character particularly popular in the U.S. in the 1960s because of widespread franchising in television. This Year's Adaptation of Stephen King's 'It' Will Be Scary and Rated R
One of the many problems with the beloved 1990 adaptation of Stephen King’s It is that it was made-for-television, which served to rob the source material of much of its terror. I’m personally of the mind that the mini-series adaptation left much to be desired, and the good news with Andy Muschietti’s upcoming feature adaptation is that it’s not going to be pulling any punches.

Ronald McDonald to limit appearances after clown scares
Well, at least we won't be seeing one creepy clown so much. McDonald's announced Monday that Ronald McDonald is going on the down low. His appearances will be limited due to the rise in clown-related disturbances in the US and more recently around the world. "McDonald's and franchisees in local markets are mindful of the current climate around clown sightings in communities and as such are being thoughtful with respect to Ronald McDonald's participation in community events for the time being," McDonald's spokeswoman Terri Hickey told CNN in an email.

A creepy new look at Pennywise the Clown's aged costume from Stephen King's 'It'
Imagine this staring at you from inside the concrete chamber of a storm drain. We’ve already gotten a close-up of Pennywise the Clown from the new film version of Stephen King’s It (out Sept. 8, 2017), but here we step back for a fuller view of the creature that likes to take the form of a leering, sinister clown. Bill Skarsgård is playing the ageless, supernatural beast who feeds on the fears of children, and it’s clear director Andy Muschietti (Mama) is steering away from the modern, baggy-suited, rainbow-hued clown for something a bit more… archaic.
