    It's a fairly obvious choice but I only started reading Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" series a few days ago. The way so far it is really enjoyable. There is a really good blend of humour and his descriptions of the world are really good. It kind of has a similar narrative style as "The Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy" imo.

      The first two books in the Discworld series are similar in narrative style as H2G2, I agree, but it's with his later works that Discworld really shines. The first two are basically parodies on famous fantasy tropes.
