    The whole Dune franchise is worth reading!

        i hadn't realized there were that many...and I have read a lot of them...though many are not from the original author.

          I'll go one step at a time lol. I read online that I should read two sequels after Dune and end with God Emperor since it's supposedly better than Dune itself.

            What is amazing to me is the connectivity through the many years, both in the actual writers, and the eons in the story. It left a mark on me as a young reader.

              Yes. I was amazed at the capacity to tie all of the eons that this these writers tied together. The lights that followed them, the intrigue. The Bene Gesserit thread, amazing

              So what is Dune about? I'm not sure if I should be expecting Star Wars, Lawrence of Arabia or Tolkien.

              There are aspects of all 3 of those stories plus add in some King of Thrones and that would sum it up for me.

              Yes, the mixing of the future with modern day things based on human interaction from our past.
