Absolutely it’s worth reading. Mind you, I haven't gotten very far into the series. Since there’s no descriptive language, I had a few false starts getting through it. Well worth it, once I did, though. Not sure that spoilers are a huge concern given the epic scope, and I can’t promise you won’t come across any, but I can point out a few things about how relevant and important it is.
