The next major Overwatch update will require a full reinstall
Blizzard have announced that for the game’s next major update, players will actually have to fully reinstall Overwatch. The next big patch is expected to introduce new hero Ashe to the live servers, as she’s currently being tested on the PTR. It sounds like the next update will do more than that, however. Blizzard is apparently making “fundamental changes” so significant that they can’t simply be patched over the game but will require a full reinstall to take effect.

50 Percent Of Blizzard Projects Never See The Light of Day
Blizzard has a number of well-known games we've heard about (and even played in some cases) that never saw release – Starcraft: Ghost, Titan, and Warcraft Adventures, to name a few. In addition, Blizzard has killed numerous titles we've never even heard about. Executive producer Allen Adham told us a little about how the process works during an interview at BlizzCon 2018.

Diablo III Is Coming To Switch Later This Year
The day that was prophesied by a light switch is finally upon us: Diablo III is coming to Nintendo Switch this year. The news was meant to be announced tomorrow, but appeared today on Forbes in a post that’s since been deleted. Diablo III Eternal Collection on Switch will include the original game, the Reaper of Souls expansion, the Rise of the Necromancer pack, and all updates the game has received thus far. You’ll also be able to get an armor set that makes you look like Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda, because I guess Ganondorf would be mad about the devil muscling in on his “crown prince of evil” turf.

Warcraft 3 marches on with its slow but steady resurgence.
In February, Blizzard released a new balance patch to Warcraft 3 -- the first one in over 7 years. The changes in patch 1.29 buffed the weakest Heroes, nerfed the strongest ones, granted wide-screen support and were followed up with yet another round of balance changes in March. Now, Blizzard developers have confirmed there will be more patches in the future, each aimed at meticulously combing through the game, changing units, tech trees, and items in the process.

Blizzard is hunting down toxic Overwatch players on YouTube
Toxic player behavior in Overwatch’s competitive mode is on the decline, thanks to effort from both Blizzard and players, according to director Jeff Kaplan. Overwatch players have been reporting more bad behavior via in-game tools, but Blizzard is also going after toxic players proactively — specifically that the company is hunting them down on YouTube and taking action against them, even before any player has reported them.

Has Hearthstone become too expensive to keep up with?
It’s a scenario that all but the richest Hearthstone players will be familiar with. There’s a hot new deck tearing up the ladder, but to play it you need to craft a powerful new legendary card. This time the deck is Tempo Rogue, the centerpiece of which is Prince Keleseth, a card that hardly saw any play before the recent nerfs to Fiery War Axe and Innervate. Time to grab my wallet and buy another bundle of packs, hoping to scrape together enough dust to craft the coveted prince. Which, it turns out, was totally worth it as I crush my opponents while climbing.

Mike Morhaime founded Blizzard thanks to a $15,000 loan from his grandmother
During today's pre-Blizzcon livestream, it was revealed that the now-massive game company Blizzard was founded with a loan from CEO and president Mike Morhaime's grandmother. "Allen [Adham] and I each contributed $10,00," Morhaime explained. "In order to get my $10,000, I borrowed $15,000 from my grandmother. She didn't charge me any interest, that was very nice of her. Before we had any games, before we had actually done anything, this was basically the doors opening and us starting out."

Blizzard have revealed Overwatch's loot box probabilities
Blizzard has publicly revealed its Overwatch loot box probabilities as new Chinese regulations aimed at online gaming kicked in this month. These regulations, reported by Eurogamer sister site Metabomb, went live at the start of May and mean that games offering random loot systems in exchange for money (including Dota 2 and League of Legends) now need to disclose the probabilities working behind the scenes. There's a great writeup of what this means over on video game industry analyst ZhugeEX's blog, if you're interested.
