Grammar. Although in the defense of the average internet denizen the grammatical rules of the English language are patently absurd. My username is one demonstration of its absurdity.

I totally mean no disrespect to your taste in usernames or anything, but the ghoti argument annoys me to no end. Yes, gh can be pronounced as an f, but only when used at the end of certain words. Yes, ti can be pronounced as sh, but only when used in cases such as "perdition" or "motion," where it must also be accompanied by an o and n. The rules may be complicated and riddled with exceptions in English, but they are there. As a lover of English and language in general, it just irks me to see aspects of a language taken out of context.

That said, ghoti was created solely to make a point, and it achieves it quite well, so I must give credit there. And sorry, /rant.

I didn't say the rules weren't there, just that they're absurd. There's really no reason for the rules to be so complicated and riddled with exceptions except that the language has grown organically rather than by design. In that regard there's something to be said for the efforts by French to maintain the purity of their language. ;)

I see a lot of people doing skincare "incorrectly" - I only put quotations there because there is a lot of debate and a lot of anecdotal stuff that doesn't yet have studies that back the assertions. Regardless, I see friends trying out new products out every week (don't do this), using extremely harsh ingredients (no bueno for most people), advocating the natural fallacy (nope, natural doesn't mean it's better), religiously adhering to "simple is better" or "complex is better" for their routine, not wearing sunscreen daily when they're actively outdoors in the summer (ahhh), and so on. It can be hard to just sit and bite my tongue.

Storing fruits and vegetables. Putting tomatoes in the refrigerator is a great way to get mold. Outside they can last 4-5 days, inside, 2 days tops. Apples and other fruits gain an e tar week when refrigerated. (Obviously, once you cut it, refrigerate it, but for whole fresh foods, most people do it wrong.

Drinking. When did shooting Scotch like it's vodka become a thing?

Coiling cables. It kills them, it almost hurts me to watch people do it wrong!
