In a way, I can understand people doing stupid things by mistake. Sometimes, something in the brain gets disconnected, or someone isn't that experienced and doesn't know how to properly react to something, causing an incident to happen. However, if someone does something stupid, and they have a hand on their cellphone, I have no sympathy for them.

There's been so many times I've passed people on green lights, who were texting away on their phone. I've seen people driving down the road reading something on their phone. I've seen lines get backed up, because the person in front had their face buried in a screen. It's so dangerous, and there's no excuse for it.

If you don't answer that text then at most someone is going to be upset with you. You know what's worse than that? Killing a family because you decided that a late response is worse than driving recklessly and putting everyone around you's lives in danger. There's so many kids that have ended up dead, because they, or another person, chose to dick about on their phone rather than give their full attention to the two ton box of steel that they were hurdling down the street at 70 mph.

Seriously, if that message is that fucking important, then just pull over, and stop trying to kill us all.
