I'd simply add to that to set yourself a goal : if you end up winning, once you hit 150 $ or 200 $, stop playing. You could spend the rest of your time there spending half of your gains on fun things, like drinks or whatever. Your maximum loss is already covered.

I can't lose what I don't bet.
Bring a maximum of $100 and don't bring any credit cards or any other means of getting money.

No credit cards. Smart.
Pretend that I'm gambling so I can get free drinks.
My local casinos don't have free drinks. That's only in vegas.
Is that illegal there?
No they just want to make money off it. No incentive to just give it out, like in vegas (competition).
The point of alcohol is to make you play more.
Stick to skill games like poker and sports betting.
Gambling is fun. Drinking is fun. Gambling and drinking... not so fun.
Skip gambling, go to the buffet instead.
Win a $25 hand of blackjack first and then the buffet is free. If you actually hit a blackjack, desert is free too.
The soda machine in the lobby is sure to hit.
Also, bring only what you can afford to lose. Once that's gone you're done
