    I peel bananas from the stem. I refuse to do it the "correct" way.

      Yes, that's considered to be the normal way. The "smart" way is to keep the stem as a handle. It's supposed to be easier to peel from the top too. Not that I've ever studied this in depth...

      That is the correct way. It provides a nice handle to pull on.
