There are so much restaurants in my city (Montreal has around 1 restaurant for 375 persons) that I can't really justify paying too much for that. There are so many great choices at under 40$ per head, tax and tip included (30% of the price, taxes are high around here!), that I mostly visit those places. Hey, one of my favorite joints in town is some Pho place downtown, 15$ tax and tip included, best soup I ate ever.
However, I paid once around 150$ for some dinner with my girlfriend in the first years, until I realized it wasn't worth it - she doesn't really care for luxury... She pretty much hates seeing my blowing my money on anything, actually...
