I've got a little over 1" scar on my left hand that runs parallel to my index finger right in the middle of that meaty part between index finger and thumb.

I was preparing for a production of 'Little Women' which I was in. Prior to final dress rehearsal (when local media would be there to drum up publicity) we were finalizing some props. One of these was a bouquet of fake flowers that were attached to a single base. I had to separate them, to I took a pair of scissors (you know, those big iron garden shears that are in schools) and was cutting down the stem, into the base, which was being held in my hand.

So basically I'm pointing a 6 inch blade at my hand and pushing it against rubbery-plastic, and just like you'd think, it sliced deep into my hand. Because of the angle, the incision size is the width of the scissor, but man that thing went deep.

Bled all over the damn stage about 25 min before curtain. I butterfly stitched it, applied pressure, and did the show. Though in every single picture for that professional production (as they were taken that night) I'm holding my hand and slightly grimacing.
