I am not opposed to seeing ads, but apparently the majority of ads shown these days are produced and provided by ad networks that are privacy invasive and engage in stealth tracking across sites. This behaviour is unacceptable to me and I block ads from known ad networks that disregard user privacy. For example, I block everything associated with doubleclick.net. Even the sites which I disable ublock Origin, the ads are still blocked due to either NoScript and/or Privacy Badger.
I rarely encounter online advertising and it's the website owners own fault for choosing ad companies that want to track and invade my privacy.
